Taqueria El Carnaval: A Vibrant Mexican Dining Experience in Placerville

Delicious. They even upgraded my beer with a super frosty mug with lemon and tajin. The torta was a little on the smaller side for the price but was very satisfying. The salsa bar was a hit too. I especially loved the spiced up onions.

I have to say, food was really good! Service was excellent. Cute little place in the corner of a strip. Salsa bar which you can help yourself to. I tried ceviche tostadas, asada and tripas taco. Asada salad, beans and rice. Everything was good and served fast.

Yeah that was amazing. 3 taco plate with rice and beans 14.99. Mariachi band was incredible. Pork taco was my favorite. Cleaned the plate.

El Carnival has good, homemade aunthenic Mexican food with a cheery, upbeat atmosphere. Mariachi music and FIFA World Cup while you eat! What could be better?!?

By far and without a doubt, this is the best Taqueria in Placerville, Diamond Springs and Shingle Springs; So if you are in search delicious authentic Mexican cuisine, there’s no other place to go accept El Carnival! This restaurant is always extremely clean and the customer service is second to none. El carnivals one of those restaurants everybody wishes they had nearby. @agentberkee

Great tasting Mexican food. Lively atmosphere. Friendly and fast counter staff. Clean restaurant with clean restrooms. I took off a star for service as this place is self serve. Staff will take away dishes though after your meal. I had the taco bowl and it was filling and delicious.

Good authentic Mexican food. The owner quietly comped our whole crew of first responders and never asked for recognition or thanks for it. We were all surprised and grateful. The food was fantastic and we come back regularly. El carnival is a solid part of the local community.

In short. It was Fantastic! We went back for seconds! Loaded up tacos! Awesome Chips and Salsa bar! Very fast and super clean! In not-so-short. I had (regular) tacos. Like, "street taco" type. First round was Tripe, crispy with a deep flavor! Carnitas, some crispiness and some moistness, I added some more salsa (From thier awesome chips and salsa bar) Asada, it was just perfect! And last, but far from least, was Chili Colorado! What!? Heck ya, Chili Colorado! It was spectacular! Went back for another and also tried the Pastor. They chopped up the pastor finer then I have had before and with that marinade - I think that's the way to go. Another win! All the tacos were so full that I basically made a plate of Nachos with all the meat that fell out! The kids are so picky...they made some really simple quesadillas for them. Then with the power of bribery, they meekly tried some of the extra meat from my Tacos and earned themselves one of the most beautiful churros I have ever seen. -Then for the first time all day, they sat in silence. All hail the Silencing powers of "El Churro!" It was really laid back. They definitely have repeat customers too! At least 1/3 of the patrons were greeted by name at their tables. We were checked on by everyone. We had a great experience! Can't wait to be by again! Thanks so much guys! Keep it coming!
